platelets: Cell fragments that stick to a wound and form a temporary plug before the stronger fibrin clot forms.
recombinant blood factors: Concentrated blood factors created in laboratories using recombinant DNA techniques. As recombinant blood factors do not originate in other humans, there is no risk that the factors will introduce diseases into the patient's bloodstream.
